The ICANN's 52nd Public Meeting opens on Monday in Singapore
Guangming Online, Feb. 9 - The 52nd Public Meeting of ICANN is taking place this week in Singapore. An opening ceremony was held on Monday. Over 1000 representatives from areas including Internet Engineering, technology, related industries, academic circles, government departments and netizens will attend the meeting.
The most important topic of the meeting is IANA (The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) stewardship transition and enhancing ICANN accountability processes. by Song Zheng
At present, the Protocol Oarameters and Numbering communities have submitted their transition proposals and met the target date, while the Naming community is still in the progress of coordinating with the working group that works on enhancing ICANN Accountability (CCWG-Accountability). In addition, members are discussing whether or not to postpone the September 2015 deadline for completion of the transition.
